Neoen acknowledges the Wiradjuri people, Traditional Owners of the land on which Culcairn Solar Farm will harvest and store the energy of the sun. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

project context

The 440 MWp Culcairn Solar Farm spans across 1,000 hectares of land and will be Neoen’s second largest solar asset in Australia once it goes into operations.

Neoen secured development approval for Culcairn Solar Farm from the NSW Government in 2021, with an option to build a 100 MW / 200 MWh battery in the future.

It will connect into the on-site 330 kV transmission line managed by TransGrid.

Cultural Heritage

The Wiradjuri people are the Traditional Owners for the land on which the Culcairn Solar Farm is located. Wiradjuri is a language group with many clan groupings within its traditional boundaries.

In 2019, Neoen conducted a Cultural Heritage Assessment with Wiradjuri Registered Aboriginal Parties. The Cultural Heritage Management Plan has been developed in consultation with these parties. It received approval from Heritage NSW as well as the NSW Department of Planning and Environment in 2023.

Neoen is committed to ensuring proper cultural protocol is followed and will continue to consult with Wiradjuri representatives.
