
Apply for First Nations Training in Sept
Across 1st to 18th September 2025, Neoen in partnership with the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) and with guidance from the Dyiraamalang Girbang Elders, is delivering a bespoke training program to support and upskill First Nations peoples living near Neoen’s 440 MWp Culcairn Solar Farm in New South Wales, in cultural heritage management.

Where: Mirambeena Community Centre, 19 Martha Mews, Lavington NSW 2641
When: From 9.30am to 3.30pm, Mondays to Thursdays
Requirement: be 18 years of age or older, able to travel to and from the community centre on their own and from the First Nations community
What to expect:
First Nations peoples will benefit from a combination of theory and practical hands-on knowledge delivered by CIT’s experienced trainer alongside a range of industry experts and local Elders and Knowledge Holders. Key topics to be covered include:
- Cultural Heritage Monitoring including a site tour of Neoen’s Culcairn Solar Farm
- Conservation and Ecosystems Management
- NSW Government’s AHMIS system and working as a Registered Aboriginal Party
- White Card Certification – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (CPCWHS1001)
- Setting up a small business and/or tips to work as an individual contractor
- Types of work and employment opportunities including an Industry day to meet prospective clients
Personal and Protective Equipment will be provided to each participant for the duration of this program as well as to take home upon its successful completion.
