First Nations Capacity Building

We are proud to celebrate the successful delivery of a unique training program called ‘Caring for Ngurambang’, for First Nations peoples interested in cultural heritage management and living near our solar farm.

This was an industry-first initiative that was delivered on Wiradjuri Country by Neoen in collaboration with the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) and under the guidance of the Dyiraamalang Girbang Elders.

Over the course three weeks, participants learnt from cultural knowledge holders, CIT’s trainer in conservation and ecosystems management and practitioners in the renewable energy industry. They also had the opportunity to spend a day applying newly acquired knowledge of the Aboriginal Heritage Information Management System (AHIMS) at our Culcairn Solar Farm site.
